Local Austin News Covers Gov. Perry's Bilderberg Trip News 8 Austin, a local Time Warner channel, covered Gov. Rick Perry's trip to the Bilderberg meeting in Istanbul after the Dallas Morning News broke the story today. The report made clear that Perry was going to a Bilderberg meeting and discussed the secrecy, controversy and criticism of the group at some length. The report was only 51 seconds long, but cycled throughout the day in a 'headline news' style at least a dozen times. The media time is specifically noted because media coverage is a new phenomenon in regards to the Bilderberg group who have gone through painstaking effort to impose silence in reporting on their meetings. According to the research of long-time Bilderberg investigator Jim Tucker, Bilderberg has only been mentioned four times in U.S. newspapers (mainstream national) over the course of several decades, despite the fact that editors from the Washington Times, as well as a number of other major papers, including the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, are invited each year. They maintain a vow to not report. The 2006 Ottawa meeting was the mark of major news reporting for the first time in North America-- it was covered by national Canadian media and made front page on every paper in Ottawa. There was also a sharp increase in the number of filmmakers and independent journalists tracking the group, including Alex Jones and his crew. In the past, reporters Daniel Estulin and Jim Tucker were among the very few reporters physically attending the meetings-- partly due to the fact that it is held in a different unpublished location each year. There have now been reports made in anticipation of the 2007 Bilderberg meeting-- a sign that reportage may well be even more expansive this year. A Turkish paper first revealed that the meeting would be held in Istanbul, following which a Dutch TV station also covered the meeting's upcoming Istanbul session. CLICK ON THE BANNER TO
