Pataki opens office in Iowa DES MOINES, Iowa - New York Gov. George Pataki this week will become the first potential presidential candidate to open a campaign office in Iowa. In addition, Pataki plans to open an office soon in Manchester, N.H., and is in "preliminary discussions" with officials in South Carolina about opening an office in that state, spokeswoman Alicia Preston said yesterday. "He wants to really help Republicans" in this year's midterm elections, Preston said. Pataki has been a frequent visitor to Iowa, where precinct caucuses traditionally launch the presidential nominating season. Those caucuses are followed quickly by the nation's first primary in New Hampshire, with South Carolina's primary coming soon after. Pataki has said he won't seek another term as governor but is exploring a run at the Republican presidential nomination. COMMENT: Check out George Pataki at the 2006 Bilderberg Meeting in Ottawa, Canada. He is seen in video footage talking with David Rockefeller (at 13:40). Historically, there is quite the connection between U.S. Presidents and Bilderberg. CLICK ON THE BANNER TO BUY TERRORSTORM IN HARD COPY |
