1000 Pledge To Donate To Ron Paul Veterans Day "Money Bomb"

Close to 1000 people have pledged to donate $100 or more to the Ron Paul presidential campaign this Sunday in the latest online donation drive.

Scheduled for Veterans Day, the drive marks the fact that more in the military have reportedly given to Ron Paul than any other candidate.

The latest unofficial grassroots donation drive is being organised through the website http://www.thisnovember11th.com/

While it is unlikely to repeat the amazing success of the November 5th "money bomb", the veterans day donation drive highlights an important difference between Ron Paul and any other candidate on either side.

According to a Houston Chronicle analysis of campaign records from January through September, Paul received $63,440 in donations from current military employees and several retired military personnel.

The average size of Paul's contributions from military sources is $500, with donations ranging from $50 to the maximum $2,300.

More than a third of Paul's military-related contributions came from Army affiliates, according to the analysis; a third came from the Air Force; and a fourth from Navy donors. The rest came from affiliates of the Marines and other branches.

The Congressman has campaigned on a strong anti-war and anti-interventionism platform and has pledged to withdraw US troops from the middle east should he be elected. Paul has also outlined his belief in a strong national defense focused on protecting the borders.

Commenting on the unprecedented and record breaking $4.2 million that was raised on Monday Ron Paul simply said , Americans “don’t like the war.”
