Ron Paul supporter banned from NCMC campus Christina Rohn / Petoskey News-Review | December 3, 2007 A Petoskey man has been temporarily banned from North Central Michigan College’s (NCMC) campus for allegedly being disruptive during the students’ mock election last week. Bill Kosloskey, 47, a Ron Paul supporter, was told by college officials that he could not come onto campus and campaign for his candidate for the 2008 presidential election during the students’ mock election Nov. 28-29. He was informed, however, that he could pass out information about Paul the Monday following the election, Dec. 3. Students said Kosloskey came onto campus Wednesday, Nov. 28, the first day of their mock election, and was being disruptive to their election process. “He came up and he started going through our information and giving it back to us,” said Krystle Timsak, vice president of NCMC’s Student Senate. “They had three candidates up on the counter that weren’t even running (for president) — Gen. Wesley Clark, Sam Brownback and Michael Bloomberg,” Kosloskey said in response. “When students were voting, he (Kosloskey) kept saying, ‘Ron Paul,’ and good things about him while they were voting, and we didn’t want him here to influence anybody,” Timsak said. “Some of them (students) just ignored him, and a few of them said some comments back at him.” ... Kosloskey said, overall, he is not upset with the students, but more with the college officials. “My beef here is not with the Student Senate and their goal to educate the voter, that’s not the beef here at all — I applaud their efforts and give them an ‘A’ for their intentions,” he said. “My beef here lies more with the college administration in banning outsiders to participate in the election process, and primarily because it (the mock election result) does have real-life ramifications outside the walls of the college.
