Madeline Albright Confronted by We Are Change Seattle

WeAreChangeSeattle.org | January 31, 2008

Former Secretary of State Madeline Albright was confronted by members of We Are Change Seattle, in part over the atrocities committed in the Balkans and her role in those events.

The crowd seems to boo the history-based questions, which Albright largely deflects.

Albright also states, in response to a question, her concern about 9/11's impact on civil liberties in the U.S., noting, however, that she "doesn't mind taking her clothes off at the airport... that is an inconvenience."

From Wikipedia: In 1996, she made highly controversial remarks in an interview with Lesley Stahl on CBS's 60 Minutes. When asked by Stahl with regards to effect of sanctions against Iraq: "We have heard that half a million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?" Albright replied: "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price — we think the price is worth it."
