Michigan Resident Flies from Germany to Cast Ballot '0001' for Ron Paul

Reuters Business Wire | January 7, 2007

On Monday, January 7, supporters of Republican presidential
candidate Ron Paul will meet in downtown Jackson, Michigan one week before the January 15 primary election to help spread the message of peace, smaller government, and personal liberty.

The rally centers on the homecoming of Jackson native Robert
Douglass, who is returning from Germany to cast his absentee ballot #0001 for Ron Paul that day. Mr. Douglass is flying in from Germany that day to personally hand his ballot to the county clerk, and to rally with his fellow Jackson residents for ten-term Texas Congressman Ron Paul.

Ron Paul supporters from Jackson and surrounding areas will meet Mr. Douglass between 1:00 and 3:00 pm at the intersection of Jackson and Michigan Avenues to celebrate as he "casts the first vote for Ron Paul" in Jackson, the birthplace of the Republican Party.

"Throughout Jackson and statewide, Dr. Paul enjoys tremendous
grassroots support," said Paul Michigan state coordinator Leslie
Roszman. "The dedication of supporters like Mr. Douglass is a
testament to Dr. Paul's confident leadership and strong message of freedom, peace, and prosperity. While Jackson residents will be rallying tomorrow, the rest of our state's 10,000 volunteers will be readying for victory on January 15."
